We've talked about the importance of having up to date contact information for your customers in Xero before as well as the amazing integration with Gmail and Office 365.
When you have this data complete it amazing what you can do with it.
Analyse
Click on Contacts and you will see a nice little tool called Smart Lists.
Here you can search for people who have or have not purchased a certain item from you in the last 12 months. You can take a look at people who have purchased something from you in the last 12 months (if you don't need them to have purchased a certain item) or even those who haven't purchased from you.
You can search for people who have purchased more than $5,000 from you over the last 12 months, or maybe you want to search for people that have purchased less than $500 in the last 12 months.
You can even search on people who live in a certain region and buy from you.
If you have a favourite search that you want to run next month you can easily save your search.
Utilise
Access to all of this data means you can make really smart decisions. You can target people who could buy more from you, you can target people who may not have purchased from you for a while, or you could target people who you want to purchase something from you that goes with something they have already purchased.
You can export out all of your customers (and suppliers) with email addresses which means you can import these into Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor or any other database you have. Just head over to Contacts in Xero, click on customers, select the ones you want and click export.
You can also use the Smart List to generate customers who meet your specific requirements. You can then import these into Mailchimp as a list or with a tag and send them a specific campaign.
The more information and data you know about your customers the better you can serve them.
