Show and Hide Invoice Fields
One of the big changes is that Xero has made is you now have the ability to "Show/Hide" columns on the new invoicing screen.
All you need to do is click on Show/Hide Fields when editing in the new invoicing screen
This will then give you the ability to select what fields you do want to see, and the ones you do not want to see.
Once you have toggled on or off what you would like to see, simply click on save and your view will be saved for future invoicing sessions.
Packing Slips
A long requested feature of Xero was for the ability to print a packing slip.
Luckily - in new invoicing this feature has been implemented!
To print a packing slip you need to follow the following steps:
1. Create an invoice using new invoicing
2. Click on the contact if it is an existing contact and then ensure you add in a delivery address and save. If the contact is brand new you will be able to add their address at the same time you add them as a new contact.
3. Enter all the details that you need to list on the invoice as you normally would.
4. Approve the invoice
5. Lastly - all you need to do now is click Print on the top right of the screen and then click on "Packing Slip"
Thats it you're done! The packing slip will pop up in a new window and you can print it from there.
I don't like change!
Longer term Xero will be completely retiring "old" invoicing and it will no longer be available
However - for now if you do want to switch back to old - or classic invoicing as Xero calls it you just need to scroll to the very bottom of your screen and click the button "Switch to Classic Invoicing"
