How are you feeling about your business surviving if you were in an accident and unable to be there for 3 months? It's quite a scary thought.....

But who has time to get all of these things documented and systemised? Well the 1st thing to do is delegate! If you have a team get the most junior person to document your processes....or better still....get one of your team members or an outsider to follow you around for an entire week, documenting everything that you do. You will soon have that list of processes and procedures to be written.

We participate in the Careers Links program. Year 10 and Year 12 students who are participating in TAFE based coursed are required to undertake a week of work experience. It's a fantastic opportunity for them to dip their toes in the world of working as opposed to school. And its equally as good an opportunity for your business. Why?

What better way to document all of your processes? These young students have no pre-conceived ideas of what work is supposed to be like. They don't know what normally happens in an office. They are raw....and that is exactly what you want.

If work experience students is not your thing you at least need to ensure you have someone in your organisation who is documenting your processes.
